The Lending Channel Head To The Scottish Mortgage Awards

After being postponed in March this year due to the pandemic, the 3rd Scottish Mortgage Awards show took place on Friday, October 8th, at the sumptuous Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh.

Robyn Hall and his team at Mortgage Introducer magazine ensured that the 220 attendees enjoyed a fantastic and well-organised event hosted by the highly entertaining Fred MacAulay once again.

The Lending Channel decided to make the most of the opportunity to mingle with the great and the good of the Scottish Mortgage industry and decided to give the whole team the afternoon off as a reward for all their hard work this year. Suitably attired in their party finery, the bus left for Edinburgh with excited anticipation of the afternoon ahead.

A fantastic lunch washed down with a generous amount of alcohol preceded the start of the award presentations.

Once again, The Lending Channel was delighted to win the Distributor of the Year award.

Managing Director, Alistair Ewing, collected the award on behalf of his team, all cheering loudly in front of the stage.

'I am so pleased to win this for the second time; it is much-deserved recognition for the whole team's hard work', commented Alistair.

Lifetime Achievement Award

However, the afternoon wasn't over yet; the last award of the day, the Distributor of the Year, was announced. Not for a minute did Alistair Ewing even consider that he might win this, so imagine his surprise and slight embarrassment when Martin Sims from United Trust Bank got up on stage and began to describe this year's winner.

'Of course, I am totally honoured to win this award, albeit I was totally taken by surprise and still feel humbled to be recognised by my industry in this way', Alistair added.

These two awards have given Team TLC a fantastic boost to finish the year on a high; with a record nine months already behind them, the 4th quarter looks like making 2021 the best ever for the growing family business.
